Notes: Castel San Giovanni is a fortress in the Ligurian town of Finale Ligure, near Savona, situated at an altitude of 50 m s.l.m.IL'attuale Castel San Giovanni was built in order to strengthen the defenses by the Spanish from 1640 to 1644 on the ruins of a tower dating back to the mid-fifteenth century. This tower (remembered by Gianmario Filelfo and which is documented by a drawing of 1571), is the central body today, octagonal fortress.
